Hola
si tengo en una pantalla y muestro para actualizar los detalles y el cabecero de un documento. Si le doy guardar a todo el documento, se supone que guarda todo, me supongo que primero el cabecero y despues el detalle, es correcto?

Sí, primero "inserta" el registro "padre" y después los "hijos".
Es necesario para el mantenimiento de la relación entre registros.
