I used to have a preferred hosting provider when I did some custom work a few years ago. But it has been a while since I looked at who is providing what out there.
Anyone have suggestions for an inexpensive, easy to configure .NET hosting provider?

Winhost looks like a potentially affordable and full service provider. But I don't have direct experience with them yet.

I would assume that you are looking for a shared web hosting host while most people here use their own web server.
The rule of thumb is to pick a provider of the right size. Avoid anyone who is too big or too small. If a web host like GoDaddy or 1&1 has millions of customers they don't care about losing a few and their customer service is subpar.
We do not use shared web hosting, we rent our servers from https://www.hivelocity.net/ and I have nothing but a great experience with them.
