The size (5000) given to the parameter 'Image' exceeds the maximum allowed (4000)

While attempting to create the Members Template, connecting to my MS-SQL server on my local lan SQL server (not on the internet) I'm getting the following error and cannot process past the database connection step;
The size (5000) given to the parameter 'Image' exceeds the maximum allowed (4000)
I gather it has to do with the image which occurs with other templates that also have an image field.

i have tried manually creating the field, but this has no effect as the database creation page reports that there are no tables in the Members db and all tables will be overwritten, then i hit the error.
Does anyone know the fix is for this issue?
