PHPRunner General questions

RockyMtnHi author

I am looking at changing the hosting companies for some of the sites where I use PHPRunner. They are built on PHPRunner 6.2.
I'd like to use PHP 7 on all of the servers and I'm wondering if PHPRunner 6.2 supports it. If not, then is it an easy upgrade to the latest version of PHPRunner from 6.2? I need the applications I have built in PHPRunner 6.2 to continue to run. I am very willing to upgrade to the latest version of PHPRunner, but I'm wondering what the compatibility and complications will be.
If both of the above are negative, then can I run PHPRunner 6.2 using PHP 5.6?
Thanks for your help.

I tried to post this at the support page, but when I posted it a form came up asking for my account name and I didn't know that.

I am not sure if your old projects will work in new versions of php. But one of the problems can be Browser Issues and resetting of pages. Newer versions of PHP use HTML5 . I tried using an older project in the newer browsers and won't format correctly . It may possible that newer versions will convert your old html to html5 but support can give you that answer. I would open a ticket at support and if you don't have credentials either signup or ask for password reset . I tried to move up to a newer version of PHP 5.3.15 lately with an existing project in PHPrunner 8.0 and all my upload photos showed blank ICON . could not figure out so went back down to lower version of php and that was 5.2.17 and everything worked again. So I stayed away from it. This is definitely a support question for Sergey. etc.... If you are changing hosting companies do your homework . GD library is needed for any uploading of images with thumbnails. I had problems with IIS settings on more than one hosting company . I now use Inspiprunner.com hosting which supports PHPRunner/ASPrunner/Asprunner.net. And it is 5 times faster than some of the others that I have tried. only issue I don't like is it uses Plesk control panel which can be an issue if you are not familiar with it

Hey John,

Thanks for the response. Guess I have to try the support ticket again. Thanks also for the hosting recommendation, however, I am looking for Linux hosting. That is actually the whole point of this exercise. I'm moving to Linux hosting that is totally optimized. Pretty exciting, but a lot of research.

If you want to use PHP 7 your only option is PHPRunner 9 which is currently beta and to be released in 2-3 weeks.
I also doubt that PHPRunner 6.2 apps will run under PHP 5.6 but you can give it a try.
