Hi guys and gals
I have a project that was made with phprunner6.1 and over the years it has been modified and upgraded. I decided to save it as a template and open it in PHPRunner 8.1 (Build 25268 x64)
It opens and connects to my database, and I proceed to my Visual editor.

In this I click on Freeform Mode on my add page, and after a second it puts an [F] Add page, but the Freeform button will not stay selected. I choose the toggle grid and no grid shows up. I Reset this page and refreash it and the [F] goes away. If I again select Freeform Mode again the [F] comes back, but it will not allow me to alter the page.
From a new project, I can use the freeform mode, so I think it is something to do with the fact the original project is a few years old.
Any ideas please? as I dont really want to start the whole process from new if it can be helped?

You cannot modify pages in such a project. If you save project as a template and that original project has modified pages - you won't be able to making changes to those pages.
You probably can just open this old project in the latest version, probably reset the page in question and get to edit it in free-form mode.

Hi.

Nope that dont work. I run 6.2 check the project and build it, make sure its all OK then save and close.

I then open 8.1, open the same project. run through to editor and select Freeform, but it unselects itself. I save the project and it comes with a warning it was made with an older version so it saves it with 8.1.
I open it again with 8.1, but again, the freeform just resets itself..

As can be seen, the Add p[age has the [F] but Freeform is not depressed

It looks like this page uses a custom template or this page was modified before you saved project as a template.
If you remove and add this table to project again - can you use Freeform mode then?

Solved...
I tried as suggested, but it made no difference, but I thought I would change the Theme. In here I found the box checked for This page has custom settings, upon unchecking it, I was now able to select Freeform mode.
