mobile template users cannot view records?

I am using mobile template for a member directory.
I have setup dynamic permissions so admin user can add/edit/delete.
Normal members can only look/view records.
When I login as admin on mobile device it works correctly - clicking a row goes to view page where I can then click edit.
When I login as a member on mobile device clicking the row has no result.
Anyone else have this problem?
