Blank top entry in dropdownlist box

Sergey, I noticed that from version 3.2 to 4.0 Beta the dropdown list boxes all have a blank entry as the first selectable choice. Before with 3.2 if I had dependent dropdown list boxes as soon as you made a choice the 2nd dropdown list boxes would auto populate with the top choice. Now the user has to click both dropdown list boxes to make a selection. Is there a way around that?

Abel,
yes, we modified it this way to allow customer leave dropdown box empty.

If you do not like users to leave dropdown box empty you can make this field required.

So what you mean is that I can control it by making it a required field so when the user clicks the save button they get the message indicating they have required fields that are empty? Anyway to have it either way?
