'list page with search' and 'allow to add new values on the fly'

I have a lookup wizard field which I wanted to have both 'list page with search' and 'allow to add new values on the fly'. I can select both in the ASPRunner setup. But the compiled page only shows the 'select' link for 'list page with search'. Is there a work-a-round to make both available?

Make sure that current user has permissions to add new records to this lookup table.
