Hi Folks:
The bar code reader plugin is not listed in the forum under plugins so I thought I would ask a couple of questions here:
The Marketplace doesn't give a lot of information about it. I'm looking for a way to track our inventory of hay. With this program I would be able to print off a bar code for each bale it looks like. We get about 17,000 round bales/year. Has anyone been able to use a bar code reader to read the tag that was printed off and get it to pull up the appropriate label in PHPRunner? If so, was it hard to set up? (my php/javascript skills are minimal).
I currently use PHPRunner 7.1. Any idea if it will work ok with Version 8 when it is released?
Thanks,
Matthew

Just having a huge language file translation job in regard to a PHP POS (POS = Point of Sale) appliance (with optimization of all displays and bar code printing and scanning feature inside) behind me ..., I fully got your point. POS Software Developer offers a range of WIRELESS add-ons like label and receipt printer, credit card reader, cash drawer and so on ..., and offers same at monthly rates as off $26/mo. for POS hosting plus as well monthly rates for the add-on periphals at unbeatable price, so, question remains, in view of a $10 plugin, whether or not your are really better off to think "ALL-IN-ONE" proven READY-TO-RUMBLE cloud app solution with the chance, to even run experimental issues to scan barcode by Android app directly into the POS which practically means, you are running wireless through your hay store, armed with the 5 inch or so phablet, scanning in and doing the billing just straight from the hay point rather than from the office. If interested, please send mail to XLINESOFT SUPPORT who in turn shall send a message to walk2fly to finally get your "barcoded vision" into finest supersonic cloud app mode and rocket-like reality ever seen on this planet by a simple mouse-click on the order button of the POS developer's online shop <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=75457&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />
P.S. And best, that POS in mind, of course serves with EXCEL data IMPORT/EXPORT and multiple locations and multiple salesmen per location PLUS store accounts or say, your clients would hug you (after hefty feet dragging) once you would give them login credentials to partake in a highly mobile POS appliance at a glance, if not to say, to get their eyes rolled <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=75457&image=2&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hi Walk2fly:
Thank you for replying to my question.
I think what you are suggesting sounds like more than I need. I work at a research facility where we harvest our own hay. I have already developed a database and input screens (using PHPRunner 7.1) to track the round hay bales (about 17,000 per year at about 1800 lbs each). The ability to scan a bar code would make it easier for the folks in the field (literally) to input the data and track each bale. There will never be any need to track sales, etc, just inventory on hand and location (since the bales are moved around and used/fed to the 11,000 cattle that we have).

So..., on barcode scanned search result missions ..., my proposal is to activate the PHPRunner built-in "show page content only after search criteria input" in a maybe separate "scan and search page", using a barcode scanner which is programmed to hit return after scanning to get the search field populated at a glance.
