upgrade to 7.1

I was running asprunner 5.1 and upgraded to 7.1. I opened the project and made sure all setting were the same. I made one change and built full project to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot no changes to files were made. I have over 1500 files. There was a new directory created called aspnet_client that has some new files in it. What am I doing wrong?
