search and advance search

Hi,
I am experiencing the following problem.
When I use the search or advance search to list only those records

that meet the search criteria, the proper results are shown for the

first page, but when I navigate to the next page, the selection is lost,

and the new page shows the list before the search.
What can I do to get this work properly.
