Hello there,
I realy need to buy a PHP code generator, have teste a few and want to discuss with you guys the good and the bad things about all of then.
so i will start this way.
Why PHPrunner? Why not CodeCharger? Why not Scriptcase?
Help me please

You need to find which tool is better for your specific project. The only way is to download a trial version and build a prototype.
Here is the list of questions you need to ask yourself:

  • how easy to use tool?
  • how much time I spent adding the same functionality to each project?
  • which project works faster and looks better?
  • how easy can I apply changes to my project?

    etc

Funny enough, EliotNess and Jones Nash post from the same IP address (both registered today and made one post exactly).
I'll let this post stay anyway. Like your creative approach. Just learn to use proxies.

Now after reading Sergey's last post I can't resist putting in my 2 cents. I looked at the trial version for CodeCharger before I had ever come across PHPRunner. I had all kinds of questions but I never received an answer from them. I guess I know why now. They were too busy signing up to forums. Instead I ended up with a superior application and support!

phprunner is great and support is.great and consistent. Use fr ver 4.3 to 6. And 6 is even better. Easy to create apps n maintain.

I have scriptcase & phprunner.

Just give some of my point of view.

  1. Scriptcase 5.2 (Scriptcase 6.0 will be coming out soon but don't know WHEN)

  • Good but when add-on libraries and upload to server, zip file size is > 20MB. NO problem for Client access.
  • Horizontal / Vertical menu -> just a simple selection / click
  • Ready made example and might be able to convert to new appz with some modifications
  • Form layout is a bit messy
  • I LIKE their field controls

  1. Phprunner 5.3

  • So far work fine for my small project.
  • Zipped Output file is small < 2M.

  1. Phprunner 6.0 (Free upgrade version)

  • So far work fine for my small project.
  • Zipped file size increase a lot compare to version 5.3. Maybe added more and more controls.
    Now I'm testing on

  1. phpmaker (http://hkvstore.com [Try before purchase]) price from $159 onwards

  • So far test on simple program & work fine.

  1. blueboxphp (http://blueboxphp.com [Freeware & Professional Version]) Professional

  • Can't find their FORUMS. All problem need to email to their support.
  • If you have lots of time but don't want to spend $, get their FREEWARE version and communicate via Email.
Again, this is only my personal point of view.

Since Sergey is letting this thread stay, I'll add my 2 cents. I used Codecharge for years. But they have pretty much abandoned their developers and product development for the past 3 or more years. On the other hand Sergey has kept new versions and improvements coming on a steady basis, and is extremely responsive to support problems and feature requests. I'm using PHPRunner to develop a complex multi-tenant SaaS application right now, and I'm very pleased with its capabilities.

Sergey, GOOD POINT, congrats! Same like seen in the past and til now, people come and ask you where to invest best, trying to sneak away with some profitable idea, hence the querying. None of them, I mean the OTHERS, can provide mobile template at all, as well no style editor, no visual editor, just to name a few, so, short-legged buddies sent from the competition simply wanted to extend greetings, if not to say, lacked to pay tribute to performance, that's all. Stay tuned ...
