6.0 PHPRunnerLayouts Folder

I'm starting to look at v6.0 and want to experiment a little with changing the layouts. I notice a new folder under my documents called PHPRunnerLayouts. I didn't see anything in the help file about this folder.
Rather than mess with the .ly and layouts.xml files in C:\Program Files\PHPRunner6.0\templates\layouts folder is it best to copy items to that PHPRunnerLayouts under my documents and edit them there? Does PHPRunner look to that folder automatically or do I need to do something to make that happen?

Thanks Cristian, I did see those documents but they didn't see anything about the role of this folder under my documents so I guess I was just curious. I'll assume the expectation is that we just edit and change the files directly in the templates folder under the PHPRunner Program Files.
