I have created a very basic app (one table) with ASPRunnerPro 6.3 with a MYSQL backend (the MYSQL server is on another physical box) and uploaded it to a freshly installed Application server running 2003 R2 fully patched. The table has about 2000 entries. When initially loading the page the process on the web server runs up to 50%, when trying to view 50 or more entries at a time the CPU ramps up to 50% and can take a long time to load (the more entries trying to view the longer it takes). I have tried this both locally on the server and from a PC with the same result. Trying the process above from two locations at the same time sees the CPU usage run up to 80 - 95%. I have checked the configuration of the server and cannot see anything that requires a change. Am I missing something obvious that I should be doing to speed up the process and reduce the load on the server?
