 Search does not work at all

I am extremely frustrated with PHPRunner at the moment. I cannot get a simple dropdown dependency to work on two different websites that have Wordpress installed in another folder that is not even in the same directory path.
My whole project URL must be shifted now and hosted at a domain I did not want to use just to get a dropdown list dependency to work as it should!
NOW, since I have uploaded to a new domain folder on the same server at 1und1.de with a SQL 5 database server and PHP 5 with all the bells and whistles, the %&//!!! SEARCH does not work!!
And what makes me so angry as I write this is that after wasting more and more hours now trying to find out what HAPPENED to my build that Ajax suggest and any form of Search in the left hand panel simply goes nowhere, no action--- I DISCOVER in a Closed Topic that this is an issue that has been reported here since 5.3 has come out!!
People who have used 5.2 discovered that Search stopped working when they updated to 5.3. They have come and told their stories in this forum for months, have been told to file Tickets, and some have even informed PHPRunner staff of where the problem starts, of the possibility of a missing server dll or a missing service, and I have seen nothing on this Forum, now months later, informing us of the issue.
I have now missed my project deadline over something like SEARCH. I cannot launch what I promised until I can get SEARCH enabled again.
But what really frosts me is if an answer has been found for those people who have already let PHPRunner know HOW ABOUT NOTIFYING NEW USERS? What about offering an update that fixes this problem?
And if the issue has still not been resolved....that ALSO calls for a Public Notice, too!
If there had been just ONE ANNOUNCEMENT-- "For those of you who may discover that SEARCH does not work we are aware that it is an issue for some of our clients. What we have discovered is that it is linked to the following.....
Here is how we suggest you can fix this problem ...."

A screenshot will show the lefthand search box with the field choices. It looks just like a real live PHPRunner search box as demonstrated in online video tutorials and in the PHPRunner manual.
A screenshot of it not working will add nothing to this discussion.
The auto-suggest does not work...nothing typed in, for instance, Last name field gets a suggestion.
Hitting the Search button gets no action with any value filled in, including from dropdowns. No shadow, no loading graphic, no action. The page stays as is.
These exact same pages work --the Search works perfectly--on two different websites on the same server host. However, the ADD DETAIL FORM has a dropdown list dependent on the values selected in a preceding Field dropdown list selector that STOPS working on the domains where the SEARCH works perfectly.
YET, the exact same build uploaded and installed on a 3rd domain on the same server host has a pefectly working ADD DETAIL FORM (dropdown list and the following dropdown list dependent on the first dropdown work PERFECTLY, as intended) BUT....the SEARCH panel does not work, as I have described.
3 domains, same server host.
On 2 domains SEARCH works, Detail form dropdown dependency value does NOT work.

On 1 domain SEARCH does NOT WORK, detail form dropdown dependency works perfectly.
Have not gotten one site installation to give me both--working Search panel, working ADD dropdown dependency field.
The PHPRunner staff knows quite well what I am describing. It was first reported in this forum in October 2010 and received 4 or 5 other people confirming the same problem since they updated to 5.3. They were asked to submit tickets. Several of them had already been using PHPRunner 5.2, so they were experienced users.

I think the fastest way to resolve your problem is contact the xlinesoft support team

Admin 1/23/2011

If you need an urgent assistance with your project from support team - why do you post this to "not a support forum"?
Upload you application to demo account, make sure your application works or doesn't work there. If it works there - something is not right with your webhost. If error can be reproduced on demo account open a ticket at http://support.xlinesoft.com sending your Demo Account URL along with detailed instructions on reproducing the error. As simple as that.

Upgraded my monster project finally, to 5.3 <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=56167&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
But my "All Fields Search" no longer works after upgrading to 5.3, at least in the majority of [core] tables.

When you start typing, the ajax hints come up ok.

But when you start the search, the search never completes, just says "Loading..." or eventually times out.
Advanced search works fine.

Have checked my Search Settings on the Fields tab, looks proper.

Have "reset" the affected pages to defaults. Using Paris/Rome.

List page settings are set to Ajax search alone.

Has been working ok since 5.1 and 5.2.
Anybody else having search problems with 5.3 (7113) ?
Furthermore..

When running this under IE8, I get an "error on page" with the following text:
Webpage error details

Also in Firefox with Firebug enabled, a javascript error is associated with this (also Showall):

I know that's not very helpful <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=56167&image=2&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

electro rick,
post your application to Demo Account and open a ticket at http://support.xlinesoft.com sending your Demo Account URL. 'Demo Account' button can be found on the last screen in the program

Electro Rick, this IS a problem. And I have noted that it is something, I believe, having to do with json script dependency along with a Windows .dll dependency.
Until PHPRunner 5.3 is tested on some typical Apache hosts running the normal commercial assortment of modules, including what is included as json support, it cannot be considered ready for all of us in this issue.
EVERYTHING I produce with PHPRunner 5.3 on my Windows 7 development machine works perfectly until the time I take it online, to where most PHP projects go, not to a Windows IIS Server as xlinesoft and its demo site are hosted on, but to a typical PHP first, PHP native hosting service where the server environment is Apache Tomcat or some Unix variation.
I think that this issue would stop, nevertheless, if PHPRunner used something like jquery rather than json.
Json reliance is a problem.
In an online environment with PHP 5.2 xx running Search works and I get the loading and dim out effect and actual search results. But my form dropdown with a value dependency and autofill don't work.
In an online environment with PHP 4.9 running Search does NOT work, not the more advanced searches and the Search panel, BUT the dropdowns and autofill work. But the dimming out shadow javascripting is also disabled. So, it seems that the Search panel and the shadowing while the Add page form is being used are hooked together -- using the same javascript library.
I have found that jquery is one library that consistently works for lots of applications and does not seem to need a separate module installed on the online server just to process json.js.
I would encourage the developers to consider a different version of json or

Vienna. I understand your frustration, you're meant to be delivering now, issues are holding you back. I don't mean or intend to hijack your thread, hopefully there is something relevant here.
The issue I'm having exists when hosted on linux RHEL5.5 or xampp on windowsXP (though I can't be certain yet they have exactly the same manifestions, on surface it appears the same). [update] Also tried this on Win7/Xampp server, same results. Unlikely I will try other servers.
[update] But I'm running at least PHP 5.3 on all servers. Its been a long while since I have used PHP 4, and where I used hosted sites had these upgraded early last year.
Meanwhile I've had to regress back to PHPR5.2
It apppears to have to do with javascript, I'm sure its just a small code bug or a configuration issue. Not a fundamental flaw in the libraries. It will be my priority today/tomorrow to isolate this issue. My problem appears slightly different, though it could have common causes. Not all tables are affected, but on the ones that are, pretty much every thing on the page that depends on javascript gets broken.
I have seen/understand differences between windows hosted and linux hosted service, different PHP/SQL versions,case sensitivity, etc. But I don't believe (yet anyways) my issue has anything to do with that.

My reply (experience with 5.3[7113] search) here has been split out into a new thread ..
http://www.asprunner.com/forums/topic/16381-search-doesnt-work/
So Vienna, I'll get outa your thread unless I learn anything more which could help with your specific issues.

Not sure if this will help you or not, I stopped update phprunner after 5.2, 5.3 is so unstable it's not worth the hassel. I did the following to get search and pulldowns to work togather...
as a snippet..
$str = "";

$str.= "<select onchange=\"window.location.href=this.options[this.selectedIndex].value;\"><option value=\"\">Categories</option>";

$str.="<option value='order_sales_item_list_list.php?a=showall'>Show all</option>";

global $conn;

$strSQL = "select * from items_cat_menu";

$rs = db_query($strSQL,$conn);

while ($data = db_fetch_array($rs))

$str.="<option value=\"order_sales_item_list_list.php?ctlSearchFor=&srchOptShowStatus=1&ctrlTypeComboStatus=0&srchWinShowStatus=0&a=integrated&id=1&criteria=and&type1=&value11=".$data["ItemCatID"]."&field1=ItemCatID&option1=Equals&not1=\">

".$data["ItemCatName"]."</option>";

$str.="</select>";

echo $str;
To eliminate conflicts and being able to call variables..
if (@$_REQUEST["a"] && @$_REQUEST["a"]!="delete" && @$_REQUEST["a"]!="search" && @$_REQUEST["a"]!="advsearch" && @$_REQUEST["a"]!="showall")

{

$arr = explode(",",$_REQUEST["a"]);

if (count($arr)>1)

{
then I could pull off stuff like...
if (@$_REQUEST["a"]=="add_panel")

{
Not sure if this will help or not, but a seperate pulldown was the only solution I could find that would be stable enough. hope this helps and might be a work around for now.
