I had a LOT of problems SOLVED when I discovered this little Tip posted by Jane
Solves a lot of problems
I would suggest that when tips are posted by Admins that you take the time to EXPLAIN what Problem the tip solves and show an Example of How it solves a problem. Some tips are written as if everyone should immediately grasp what problem it solves or what capabilities it gives.
Having said that-- Jane's Tip should be PROMINENTLY DISPLAYED and Expanded upon in the Manual and it should have its own Video Tutorial!
What it solved for me was that if I created, for instance, a Lookup Wizard in the ADD page then that Lookup Wizard was applied across all pages whether I wanted this to happen or not.
So that if a Lookup Wizard gave me a text Display Value for a certain field while the form saved the numeric value I could not then go to the List Page and apply a different Display View to that field.
Jane's tip, which also applies to PHPRunner, allows me to retrieve a field value from the master table and instantly have available several replications of the same data. With a readonly version, for instance, I can now specify on the List page that I want to turn off the default version of that field (for which I applied a lookup wizard on the Add page) and use the same data under the alias name I defined in the SQL query.
Now in the LIST page I can take this "twin" value and give it new display properties without messing up the ADD page.
HUGELY valuable! Solves a LOT of problems!
Deserves a Tutorial!
