I decided to not have a thumbnail created on a photo field I had in my list. I uncheck the thumbnail box under "View As" and then click over to the 'Edit As' screen and then uncheck the "Create Thumbnail on the Fly". Click okay and it does not save my selection. I think it must have some auto setting that if you click one thumbnail feature on one screen it auto fills the other. So since you can not unclick both at the same time, they just keep defaulting to on. I even tried deleting the photo field from the "fields" screen, save and build. Then go back in and add the field back, when I got to the editor screen and popped up the screens to set their settings, it was still thumbnail checked. So I am stuck with it. I will make it work, but you might want to test turning thumbnails on and off.
