Hi!
I am using ASP Runner 6.1.
I have asked this question before and tried different things but no luck.
I wanted to ask if it's possible to display/reflect value entered from Table 2 to Add Page of Table 1 not using session variable or lookup table.
I don't want to use session variable because the user who will enter the value on Table 2 is not the same user who will visit/use Table 1. Likewise, I don't want to use lookup table because this needs a dropdown box as a trigger to call on those values from Table 2.
I am looking at Add Page Before Display Event for Table 1 or similar to that.
Thanks,

Jay

I'm sorry, I think I'm missing something here. You say "You don't want to use a session varibale, NOR do you want to do a lookup". Unless data magically falls out of the "Data Tree", how do you expect to get the data???
What you are asking makes no sense to me at all, could you clarify and maybe we can help (ps, this might be why you've not gotten a response).

You missed everything that I have said and most likely, you won't be able to help because you didn't understand my note at all.
First, I'm not looking for some magical stuff.
Second, I didn't say that I didn't get any response. I've gotten number of responses from Ann, Sergey and Jane but unfortunately, none of them worked so far.
I was thinking that global variable might work but I don't know how to use it. If it's possible to declare the value in Table 2 as a global variable and call up that variable in Table 1 (like in Java as a public class), that could be the solution.
So, if you can think of that kind of solution or something similar to that instead of insulting my note, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, just shut up and help others. And don't be a coward by not including your name on your note.

Okay, the Reply coount says 3, so that suggests the response level. Moving on, the only way to do this is to use a Session variable (you said Blobal variable if not mistaken). You can store the UserID, LoginId etc into the session variable. If the table structure is as indicated, this will work - the end.
So good luck now...

I visit this forum all the time to get pointers and such, but I gotta tell ya I have to tend to agree with this roger guy (hopefully a guy <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=53078&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />), this really didn't make sense to me either. "Not using a session variable beacuse..." or "don't want to use...", I would have to make the same comment about the "Data tree".
Ok, so moving on - Session Variable, Session Variable, Session Variable. There is no nother way that I know of of retaining the intel you need. If there is, someone please let me know.
