 IE8 vs Chrome / Firefox

Does anyone have any idea why viewing a column would wrap the wording short of the column size only when viewed with Internet Explorer 8? It works fine in Chrome and Firefox. The word wrapping is very simular to the wrapping seen in the visual editor for that column. I am also seeing that setting the column to right aligned, shows up in IE somewhere right of center for the right margin, and fully to the right margin in Chrome and Firefox.
Is this some sort of CSS issue? Any work arounds known for IE?
Thanks

I solved this issue... It turned out that the column needed its cell size set. When I set the cell size, IE did not word wrap the lines any longer, and appeared just like the Firefox and Chrome browsers had displayed the page before setting the cell size.
