Forward or Back buttons on edit/view pages

Hi,
On my projects "list" page as well as "edit" or "view" pages, the MySQL selection works and displays the records I want...However, when using the "<<<" or ">>>" buttons on the "edit" or "view" pages, it cycles through all records in the database, regardless of my SQL selection used on the "list/edit" pages.
Any suggestions on making these buttons follow the SQL selection?
