I have a field in many tables called comments or Notes. I sometimes format the field as a text box and other times I format as a text field and then set the long field length display to something like 40 characters. This results in the field being shown with 40 characters and the word More... shown afterward. If I click on the More..., I get a pop up window that shows the contents of the field in its entirety. If the "More..." could instead of a popup box, just show the full field in a ajax hover over much like you show detail records via ajax hover over. Just a thought...
