Has anyone ran into problems with deleting or changing photos with the inline edit on version 5.1? I been trying out different settings on the photo to see what I want to use for setting up a directory for storing them. I am not only having problems changing in inline edit. But also in different browsers it is acting differently too.

  1. Using Google Chrome with inline edit both pictures options to delete or update shows up. I select new photos and update and when the screen returns there is only red x. I check the directory and there is no new file uploaded for what I had selected. HOWEVER if I select the edit link and go to the edit screen - it works fine.
  2. Using IE I have the same problem, but there is another problem when I do inline edit it only shows the edit options for the first photo, not the second.
I have not tested in firefox yet.
You can try it out by going to http://www.crhorse.com/delete User: deletetest pass: ohranchup
    This is very strange.

I should also mention - I did not edit the layout and style templates. I tried several of the layouts and style to see if I could target it if that was the case. Nothing found same problem.
Anyone have solutions for me to try? I really need this to work.
UPDATE: PLEASE READ MORE OF WHAT I FOUND OUT. SEE BELOW A FEW POSTINGS DOWN[/b]

Kim,
It's difficult to tell you what's happening without seeing actual files.

I am using PHPRunner 5.1 build 2503 - I have tested this on two different computers with the same results:
I have narrowed down the problem. It works fine in firefox - but NOT IN IE or CHROME
I have tested and tested it - the upload directory is not the problem. It is the inline edit and what browser you use.
I noticed in IE that you don't get all the edit choices if you inline edit. I have attached a photo to show you what I see in IE.
So there are TWO problems with the inline edit feature:

  1. In Internet Explorer browser, inline edit feature will not show all edit fields available for editing. NOTE in the photo attached you will see that the description field is not allowing edit either! When I used phprunner 4.2 to build my other websites, inline edit worked fine, no problems. But in 5.1 it does not work in the IE browser.
  2. In Google Chrome and Internet Explorer if I use inline edit to update a photo, it will not upload the photo correctly and it shows a red x. But if I use the EDIT screen and NOT inline edit, then it uploads fine! So it is something in the inline edit that is causing the problem. Again in 4.2 I had no problems and in 5.1 I have a problem.
PLEASE NOTE I do have the inline edit selected for _all fields_in the "CHOOSE FIELDS" of the phprunner screen.

I think I am going crazy <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=47045&image=2&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

What changed in the inline edit from version 4.2 to 5.1?

Okay I think I figured out one more thing, when using IE and Chrome:
When you use inline edit feature - it will change the file name in the database but FAILS to upload the photo.
If you use the Add or Edit pages - it will change the file name in the database and it DOES upload the photo.
I have found this out by testing and checking my server to see what is happening to the files.
If I use Firefox it functions fine.

Version 5.2 fixes the problem.
