Jane,
With new projects, PHPRunner 5.0 (Build 766) works fine. However, when I try and use it for older projects, I am having no end of problems.
First of all, it is continually crashing or not-responding with older 4.2 projects. When I upload the new phprunner.php, and open the project, it had erases all my reports. I have tons of PHPRunner projects going back many years. With 5.0, I am finding the only way I can get them to work is to create a new project and redo them.
Fortunately, I did not delete Version 4.2 so I guess I will go back to using that for previous projects.
For years, PHPRunner was an application that never gave me any problems and was a joy to use. However, with 5.0 this has now changed. You need to slow down with the new versions, or make it easy for us to use the new versions on updating old projects files.
Thanks,
Russ
Based on my experiences with 50. Backwards compatibility seems to be a huge shortcoming. <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=37167&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
In build 4.2(379) I can cut and past the html view to notepad before making changes. If I get a fatal problem I just cut and past the old copy back and I'm back in business. <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=37167&image=2&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
With version 5.0 when I cut and past it back it gives me unrecoverable errors and I have to completely rebuild the page with the 5.0 template which is not at all like the classified template I started with in version 4.2. <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=37167&image=3&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Ok, I FEEL BETTER now that that's all out of my system! I could go on and on trashing version 5.0 but I'm not going to do that. Instead I'm going to continue to use 4.2 It's been a wonderful program to work even though it has many quirks of its own. <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=37167&image=4&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
So far I just haven't found the need to upgrade to 50; however, I'm sure that before the ink dries on this page I'll figure out why I HAVE to upgrade to it. Then after pulling my hair out I'll probably learn to love it as much as I do version 4.2 <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=37167&image=5&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
