semicolon in search field causing problems

I hope this is a simple one but its got me baffled.
I inadvertently typed in a semicolon while doing a search on a master record list page. When I pressed the search button I got a directory listing of my home directory instead of the expected no records found page.
If I type in a value that I know should have a no records found result (with no semicolon) I get the appropriate no records found page. If I type in a value that should generate a "hit" the search works fine.
I tried several other list pages and they all give the same result if I type in a value that includes a semicolon in the seach field.
Any idea what's causing this or how to fix it?
Bruce

UPDATE: When I load the same application up to the demo server the search works fine.

What should I be looking for on my hosted server that might cause this problem with the semicolon?

Hi,
please make sure you use latest ASPRunnerPro build 766.

If it doesn't help zip a full set of generated files, your project file and database and open a ticket at http://support.xlinesoft.com sending your files.

Hi Jane,
I purchased version 5 in September of 2007 so I didn't qualify for a free upgrade to version 6 in October.
I am currently running version 5.2 (build 407). Everything else is working fine for me. Does this mean I have to upgrade to pursue this issue further?
Thanks for your response,

Bruce
