Field shows only in 'view' when it is also in 'list'

S shoppy author I have something strange. I have a field that has an 'text area' that I don't want to show in the listing but only in the view. Strange thing is in FIELDS that when I check the view and uncheck the list option the text wont show up in view. But when I check both the list and view option it shows up in both. So now I manually deleted the row (in list) in EDITOR to only let it show up in view but I think this is the solution. Can anyone help me?

If so, you're really viewing in list view.. Otherwise if it is a bootstrap theme, you can show the field in list, and manually hide it from your browser..
