Hi,
I would like to Suggest the ability for PHPR products to rapidly create managed APIs with the following features:

  1. Creat REST API and manage Logs to flat file and/or DB
  2. Return response as JSON, XML and plain text format
  3. Capture request and response in log files or DB.
  4. Logged in users can view the API logs, set up and change secret/keys as API parameters for authentication.
  5. External User can consume the API services with a secret and keys parameters.
    REST API is very common for APPs nowadays, and ability to securetly provide that to users in addition

    to the web applications, would be very useful and powerful.
    Basically, the REST API can be extended for any application generated by PHPR.

    Perhaps in the PHPR, have another options to create APIs, in addition to List, view, add, edit, print forms.
    Maybe it can be a PHPR pluggin sold seperately.

I was unhappy to see that version 10 , does not reflect the above comments. It makes coding with other IDE to incorporate two different applications when just a custom REST API in the phprunner software would do the job . Although the new features are great .

I check back my suggestion here today, it seems quite some people are interested in the REST API.

some even felt "devastated" not to have it in the roadmap for phpr v 10. <img src='https://asprunner.com/forums/file.php?topicimage=1&fieldname=reply&id=84166&image=1&table=forumreplies' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
I think PHPR will be the first to have the REST API for IDE Platform if implemented soonest.
Currently, PHPR already has some GUI's structure that can be modified to suit the REST API:
a. PHPR has the page to rename the field label. So it could be used to name the REST API value-pair names.

=> Each field can have a API Tick box and its associated name, just like the field to display for table and view list page.
b. Quite similar to Current Import and Export feature of PHPR, interms of GUI.
With PHPR REST API which PHPR developer can turn on and off the table field for API consumption,

along with the rich sets of events for pre API and Post API consumptions,

it will make integrating PHPR to mobile app seamless and easy to control,

as compared to developer developing makeshift and seperate REST API for mobile app inteface

with PHPR developed Web.
It has been a great job by Sergey and team for the PHPR products.

Would be great to hear some great roadmap for REST API, or some opinion from the team,

if they can consider it.

Will it be possible to run data from an API call through filters before storing in a local database? Either in code or maybe some kind of "wiizzard" in phpr.

I'm aksing because I'm dealing with an API that usually delivers to much data that has to be filtered/cleaned up after the call.
Of course you'd probably also could just store away the whole API answer and run some code or queries afterwards.

Just wondering.

Just saw the news that beta is moved to Feb next year, but worth the wait! The screenshot already seems very interesting and promising. I guess filtering should be a part of it, like a pre and post API consumption events.
